Spiritwood Main Street, Saskatchewan

Project Overview

Introduction

The Accredited Tier of the Main Streets Saskatchewan Program, which aids and supports communities in the revitalization of their historic downtowns and commercial areas, accepted the Town of Spiritwood as a recipient in the fall of 2015. Soon after, the Town of Spiritwood brought Nadi Group on as an urban design consultant to provide them with a guideline document, containing recommendations for architectural and landscape design, for its Main Street.

Project Summary

Nadi Group engaged with the community and various stakeholder groups through direct interviews, a stakeholder design charette and a public open house to gather information and feedback regarding the community’s vision for the future of Spiritwood’s townscape. We translated the community input into a cohesive guideline document and streetscape master plan that provides both practical and attainable design interventions for the revitalization of their downtown buildings and streetscape.

Our Role

Nadi Group provided community engagement services to produce a cohesive guideline document and streetscape master plan.
