Oakland Hunt, Michigan

Project Overview

Introduction

Oakland Township remains one of Michigan’s oldest townships. Oakland Hunt is located in Oakland Township of Oakland County - just minutes away from downtown Rochester, striking a balance for residents between city and rural life. The Toll Brothers enlisted Nadi Group expertise to create a landscape plan that would maximize the many unique and environmentally sensitive features on this site, including an abundance of inland lakes, streams, and wetlands. Lombardo Homes now owns this community.

Project Summary

Our plan covered topography, open fields, wetlands, sewage treatment and water challenges, storm water detention, the nearby Blue Heron Rookery and many great vistas. Moreover, the resulting plan preserved wide-open areas adjacent to the exterior roads and additional open space areas with connected interior pathways adjacent to every home site. As time passed, the open fields adjacent to the main roads will revert to natural woodlands preserving the rural view-sheds from the street, enhancing the community’s recreational destinations, residential locations and wildlife habitat.

Our Role

Nadi Group created the site plan, master plan and a landscape plan that preserved wide open areas adjacent to the exterior roads and additional open space areas with connected interior pathways near every home site. It is the first “Open Space Planned Community” in the Township.
