Cartier Parc Master Plan, Manitoba
Project Overview
Introduction
In 2020, the Parc Cartier working committee, with approval from Ste. Agathe Community Development Inc, chose Nadi Group to create a rural park and campground master plan that includes a natural swimming pond in Ste. Agathe, Manitoba. This master plan aimed to drive the park’s development for several decades, which meant catering to a growing Ste. Agathe and its surrounding municipalities.
Project Summary
Nadi Group started with a site meeting at Cartier Parc with the client. During this time, we explored the site, diving into the wants, needs and current dislikes. We also obtained drone imagery for use later in the design process. With our tool kit equipped, we began working on our client’s number one amenity: an outdoor swimming area. All the other amenity infrastructures, such as washrooms, individual and group campsites, a playground and more parking, were incorporated to modernize Cartier Parc and support the new swimming area. To accomplish this, we approached the design of the naturalized swimming area by considering area precedents and standards, including several bylaws.
Our Role
During the final stages of the master plan design, we compiled all visual assets and began to develop the Cartier Parc Master Plan presentation package. This project is completed.
