Bridgwater Play Spaces, Manitoba

Project Overview

Introduction

Manitoba Housing and Renewal Corporation contracted Nadi Group to incorporate play spaces into the overall master plan for Bridgwater Lakes in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The client had already envisioned Bridgwater as a complete community that combined traditional architecture with forward-thinking livability. We aimed for our play spaces to adopt this mentality, but with a little extra flair.

Project Summary

A few prominent play spaces are present within the Bridgwater Lakes neighborhood fabric. The Nautical and Circular playgrounds play with textures, colors and materials for the surface work. We specifically selected pieces that optimized inclusion and encouraged all children to enjoy play—even those with some form of visual, sensory or motor function challenge. Moreover, we selected the play structures with the same philosophy in mind, and the color and material selections match the surface works.

Our Role

Nadi Group helped build the landscape that would be home to the play structure, specifically the surface works where children could enjoy many activities. Moreover, we remained focus on selecting play structures that would complement our goals for the play spaces.
