Bonnie Lake, Ontario

Project Overview

Introduction

A private developer enlisted the Nadi Group to develop a multi-phase master plan for a large-scale, high amenity resort community in the Muskoka Region of Ontario. The community surrounds Bonnie Lake and is the location of several natural features, including animal migration corridors, large watersheds, and rarer forest habitats.

Project Summary

Nadi Group's community design carefully considered the environmental constraints of the site, working to maximize the opportunities for park model units within the available area while maximizing the access to the wealth of natural amenities in the property through trails and ‘amenity nodes’ dispersed evenly throughout the site. While maximizing the site count was important, the plan also prioritized maintaining the area's ‘cottage-like feel’. The master plan incorporated a central amenity zone that showcased a beachfront, outdoor pools, a playground and a skatepark. Amenity nodes throughout the site provide residents access to activities, including playgrounds, horseshoe pits, bicycle pump tracks and sports courts.

Our Role

Nadi Group's services include the site analysis, bubble diagram, sketch plan and final rendered masterplan for the Bonnie Lake Muskoka Resort. Our plan has nearly 600 spots for park models, staff housing accommodations and additional areas for rustic tent camping, including walk-in sites. It also includes a variety of recreational and leisure opportunities. This project is ongoing.
